Milestones

Education is a core pillar of MJAF’s mission. Project LEHER pilots a holistic early learning model that strengthens education systems by focusing on how children naturally learn, move, and grow.

About Project LEHER

The LEHER pilot is implemented at DMC Boys and Girls Primary School on Baba Island in collaboration with the Navy League. The project nurtures learning spaces, develops local teaching capacity, and reshapes early education beyond conventional classroom methods.

The Early Learning Center

These Centers are safe, engaging, and joyful spaces where children learn through movement, play, and exploration. They are professionally managed by MJAF with continuous mentoring, teacher development, and quality assurance.

Our Commitment

Disaster relief is not just a response — it is a promise.
A promise to show up. To support. To rebuild. And to ensure no vulnerable community stands alone in times of crisis.

Our Impact So Far

Building Teachers from Within the Community
From 4 to 16 trained women educators, improving child learning outcomes and providing livelihoods.

Creating Child-Friendly Learning Environments

Classrooms remodeled with age-appropriate furniture and learning materials that support interactive, hands-on learning.

Engaging Parents in the Learning Journey

Open houses and orientation sessions foster trust, shared ownership, and long-term engagement.

A Curriculum That Moves With the Child

The curriculum is adaptive, inclusive, and kinesthetic. Learning incorporates movement, hands-on activities, real-world interaction, and Khel Kahani (play and storytelling) to foster language, imagination, and emotional understanding. Sports, reading time, and music ensure balanced development.
Continuous observation and progress reviews keep learning meaningful and engaging.

Key Milestones

  • Classroom remodeling and setup
  • Placement of learning furniture and materials
  • Teacher recruitment, assessment, and training
  • Curriculum development aligned with child needs

Looking Ahead

From one classroom serving 30 children, Project LEHER is scaling to over 200 pre-primary children, with plans to expand into schools serving marginalized communities.
