Education
Project LEHER – Education is a core pillar of MJAF’s mission. Project LEHER pilots a holistic early learning model that strengthens education systems by focusing on how children naturally learn, move, and grow.
About Project LEHER – The LEHER pilot is implemented at DMC Boys and Girls Primary School on Baba Island in collaboration with the Navy League. The project nurtures learning spaces, develops local teaching capacity, and reshapes early education beyond conventional classroom methods.
The Early Learning Centre – Centres are safe engaging and joyful spaces where children learn through movement, play, and exploration. They are professionally managed by MJAF with continuous mentoring teacher development, and quality assurance.
Our Impact So Far
Building Teachers from Within the Community – From 4 to 16 trained women educators improving child learning outcomes and providing livelihoods.
Creating Child-Friendly Learning Environments – Classrooms remodeled with age-appropriate furniture and learning materials that support interactive, hands-on learning.
Engaging Parents in the Learning Journey – Open houses and orientation sessions foster trust, shared ownership, and long-term engagement in children’s education.
A Curriculum That Moves with the Child – The curriculum is adaptive, inclusive, and kinesthetic. Learning incorporates movement, hands-on activities, and real-world interaction, enriched by Khel Kahani (play and storytelling) to foster language imagination, and emotional understanding.
Sports, reading time, and music are integrated for balanced development. Continuous observation and progress reviews ensure learning remains meaningful and engaging.
